Fashion Film: Coppelia

by Natasha Foster, Erin Fairs on 30 December 2020

This outer-stellar fashion short centres on a concept which has fascinated science fiction fans for decades: the battle between human and machine. Directed by Sydney-based duo Natasha Foster and Erin Fairs, Coppelia is a feat of the supernatural. After waking up in an orb of white light, encrusted silver gems adorning her forehead, the unnamed protagonist of the film glitches, dances and hovers after being disturbed by a lighting machine. Multiple garments are inventively displayed in motion in this compelling, narrative fashion film.
