Fashion Film: Boyhood
Sensual in tone, BOYHOOD explores the transitory state of adolescence through an intimate and playful lens. The film's director Ericke Tjiueza aims to create representation for minority African identities, namely Namibian millennials. Set in the sweltering Southern African wilderness, male friendship is expounded on; a suit jacket is conjoined between two wearers, models perform precarious balancing acts, or play tennis. Traditional modes of masculine dress are experimented with via the formal (shirt and tie) and the less formal (snug boxer briefs).
