Digital Art Director

SHOWstudio has a rare and exciting opportunity to join our dynamic team as Digital Art Director. Working with Nick Knight and a team of dedicated and passionate individuals, the position is pivotal to the creation and execution of SHOWstudio’s diverse and pioneering content.

The Digital Art Director is central in the presentation and visual development of the website and brand. They will work especially closely with Nick Knight to devise new methods to display content, to work on digital output such as fashion films and design, both off and online, across multiple strands of the company.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Creating mockups and options across still imagery, graphic design tasks and 3D animation
  • Collaborating closely with SHOWstudio’s Director, Nick Knight, and his film team, to suggest technical innovations in digital design that aid in the aesthetic and delivery of film projects - especially within the 3D design field
  • Working with all departments to ensure that all content is to its highest visual output
  • Briefing, managing and nurturing junior designers and design interns
  • Working with SHOWstudio.com’s Content Management System (CMS) to aid in the publishing process of a variety of content
  • Future proofing content produced. As well as being innovative in their creative thought processes, the candidate should be diligent in ensuring that assets produced are archived properly and that source files and original working suggestions are saved.
  • Maintaining timetabled content - adhering to tight deadlines and ensuring assets are signed off, prepared and uploaded to the website ahead of published time.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

  • Impeccable attention to detail
  • Able to communicate ideas and sometimes complex concepts to a variety of people with varying technical understanding
  • Flexible and able to problem solve, on the spot, to achieve impeccable results
  • The foresight to identify potential problems or sticking points, and enacting strategies of how to avoid them.
  • Experience dealing with high profile clients.
  • Forward thinking in image making - being up-to-date with what digital design means today, in both the fashion industry and other fields

SKILLS AND UNDERSTANDING REQUIRED

  • Have an interest in fashion, art and music
  • Forward-thinking and able to navigate through difficult technical challenges
  • A high level understanding of all Adobe Cloud software including Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, Houdini, experience of other modern content creation programmes.
  • A good to high level understanding of 3D software - ideally Cinema 4D (although alternatives such as Max, Blender and Maya are welcomed)
  • Knowledge of HTML / CSS / Javascript
  • A high level of interest in the landscape of digital design today - being able to cross disciplines to suit briefs and being comfortable developing unique techniques and processes

Design Intern

Working closely with SHOWstudio Art and Technical departments, the design intern will be exposed to and involved in designing and creating assets for our web site, email newsletters, films and the occasional print project. This role best suits an enthusiastic student or graduate from a creative graphics or photography-related degree with an interest in fashion.

In order to get the best out of the internship we require applicants to possess a strong working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator. Experience working with a CMS (Content Management System) is beneficial. Basic video editing skills and basic Adobe AfterEffects skills would be preferred. Other skills that would be advantageous are an understanding of HTML and an interest in 3D/interactive design.

Good communication skills and the ability to work independently on a variety of tasks are also very beneficial. The work at the studio can be varied and so the learning environment is particularly suited to an individual possessing strong organisational skills, ability to work in very fast paced a fast-paced and time-pressured environment with excellent attention to detail.

As well as general 'running' tasks expected in any busy design studio, interns often have the unique opportunity to participate behind-the-scenes at photo shoots and live performances with some of the world's leading fashion and music creatives.

Ideally, interns work full time for a period of 12 weeks. SHOWstudio will contribute to lunch and travel expenses.

Editing Intern

Assisting our Fashion Film team this role will suit a student or graduate from a filmmaking/photography degree who has a strong interest in film editing. This role requires strong editing, camera operation skills and technical ability.

Interns are responsible for film editing support including editing footage for SHOWstudio projects, syncing video and audio, sourcing video footage and creating basic grades amongst a wide range of 'running' tasks one would expect in any busy studio.

Ideally, interns work full time for a period of 6 – 12 weeks, although part-time positions will be considered. SHOWstudio can cover lunch and travel costs (within central London).

Studio Intern

Assisting the SHOWstudio team, this internship will suit a student or recent graduate who has a strong interest in production and is looking for a runner position within the fashion and creative industries.

The internship will provide excellent hands on experience working within an active studio and online publisher. Working closely with all members of the team the studio intern would experience live studio and broadcast production, event coordination, delivery of film series and fashion collection coverage as well as publishing timeline management.

The internship is ideally suited to individuals with excellent organisational abilities, strong communication and administrative skills and ability to use common sense and logic to overcome obstacles and reach solutions. An interest in production is essential.

Ideally, interns work full time for a period of 6 – 12 weeks. SHOWstudio can cover lunch and travel costs (within central London).

Interns are responsible for administrative support, research and some writing as well as answering phones, looking after visitors and a wide range of 'running' tasks one would expect in any busy studio.

Ideally, interns work full time for a period of 6 – 12 weeks, although part-time positions will be considered. SHOWstudio can cover lunch and travel costs (within central London).
