SHOWstudio is looking for a Creative Technologist

SHOWstudio has a rare and exciting opportunity to join our team as a full-time Creative Technologist.

A Creative Technologist is a developer who understands design and the creative process. A Creative Technologist helps to formulate ways to uphold, improve, and hone the integrity of a design from a programmatic and imaginative perspective.

The role will be central in the presentation and visual development of the website and brand. They will work especially closely with Nick Knight to devise new methods to display content, to work on digital output such as fashion films and design, both off and online, across multiple strands of the company.

We are looking for someone who is brilliant at creative coding, works with 3d programs such as Cinema 4D and digital modelling programs such as Houdini, who is knowledgeable of and is fascinated with the possibilities of AI, Deep Fakes, VR, Robotics, who is excited by audience participation and the frontiers of new media in general, whose ideas are really bold and do not have print media as a foundation for their aesthetics.

Social Media Internship

All our internship programmes are currently on hold due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Assisting our Social Media Manager, this role will suit someone with an aim of entering the social media world for the fashion industry. This role requires strong writing ability, enthusiasm for photography, familiarity with social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube), and a willingness to communicate with a wide range of people.

The intern in this role will be responsible for assisting with social media posting and scheduling during the busy fashion week period, devising catchy copy, day-to-day admin, and assisting the Social Media Manager as required.

This internship will be full time from February 17th 2020, with a potential extension of up to 12 weeks. SHOWstudio is able to cover lunch and travel costs (within central London).

Design Intern

All our internship programmes are currently on hold due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Working closely with SHOWstudio Art and Technical departments, the design intern will be exposed to and involved in designing and creating assets for our web site, email newsletters, films and the occasional print project. This role best suits an enthusiastic student or graduate from a creative graphics or photography-related degree with an interest in fashion.

In order to get the best out of the internship we require applicants to possess a strong working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator. Experience working with a CMS (Content Management System) is beneficial. Basic video editing skills and basic Adobe AfterEffects skills would be preferred. Other skills that would be advantageous are an understanding of HTML and an interest in 3D/interactive design.

Good communication skills and the ability to work independently on a variety of tasks are also very beneficial. The work at the studio can be varied and so the learning environment is particularly suited to an individual possessing strong organisational skills, ability to work in very fast paced a fast-paced and time-pressured environment with excellent attention to detail.

As well as general 'running' tasks expected in any busy design studio, interns often have the unique opportunity to participate behind-the-scenes at photo shoots and live performances with some of the world's leading fashion and music creatives.

Ideally, interns work full time for a period of 12 weeks. SHOWstudio will contribute to lunch and travel expenses.

Assisting our Fashion Film team this role will suit a student or graduate from a filmmaking/photography degree who has a strong interest in film editing. This role requires strong editing, camera operation skills and technical ability.

Interns are responsible for film editing support including editing footage for SHOWstudio projects, syncing video and audio, sourcing video footage and creating basic grades amongst a wide range of 'running' tasks one would expect in any busy studio.

Ideally, interns work full time for a period of 6 – 12 weeks, although part-time positions will be considered. SHOWstudio can cover lunch and travel costs (within central London).

Studio Intern

Assisting the SHOWstudio team, this internship will suit a student or recent graduate who has a strong interest in production and is looking for a runner position within the fashion and creative industries.

The internship will provide excellent hands on experience working within an active studio and online publisher. Working closely with all members of the team the studio intern would experience live studio and broadcast production, event coordination, delivery of film series and fashion collection coverage as well as publishing timeline management.

The internship is ideally suited to individuals with excellent organisational abilities, strong communication and administrative skills and ability to use common sense and logic to overcome obstacles and reach solutions. An interest in production is essential.

Ideally, interns work full time for a period of 6 – 12 weeks. SHOWstudio can cover lunch and travel costs (within central London).

Ideally, interns work full time for a period of 6 – 12 weeks, although part-time positions will be considered. SHOWstudio can cover lunch and travel costs (within central London).
