Moncler Genius

Fashion Designer

Moncler Genius is a fashion project where the Italian fashion brand Moncler collaborates with participating designers. It was founded by Remo Ruffini to function as a hub for exceptional minds and was officially unveiled at Milan Fashion Week on 20 February 2018.

The collaborative project is housed in the Moncler Genius building in Milan. The building is made up of eight different cells, each one devoted to a single collection which are released in special monthly drops.

Each collection is numbered one to eight. For 2020, JW Anderson joined the roster to create Moncler 1, replacing the departing designer, Pierpaolo Piccioli; Sergio Zambon and Veronica Leoni created the 2 Moncler 1952 collections (Zambon on menswear and Leoni on womenswear); Sandro Mandrino created the 3 Moncler Grenoble collection; Simone Rocha created 4 Moncler; Craig Green created 5 Moncler; Matthew Williams created the 6 Moncler 1017 ALYX 9SM range (6 Moncler having previously been designed 2018-2019 by Noir Kei Ninomiya); Hiroshi Fujiwara created the 7 Moncler Fragment collection and Richard Quinn created a collection for Moncler 8.

2020 saw three additional accessory collections launch, including a range by luxury dog clothing brand Poldo, an electric bike by Copenhagen-based startup Mate.bike and a collaboration with luggage brand Rimowa.
