Project: Ad Campaign Prototype - Eliminate White Power Image Source: Unknown This is just an ad campaign idea. Imagine a whole ad campaign of morgue/autopsy shots of dead white people. White beauty is the standard in fashion. It’s always in majority. I (Steven Raj) have always been aware of that and this ad is really a reflection of my frustration towards the dominance of white culture in our world. My partner Hannah Rose is caucasian and I love her dearly. She inspires my mind infinitely. Although, we always feel challenged promoting her beauty within the work we do, even though she looks nothing like the typical white cis gender model. Now I have realized that the best solution is to present both of us equally because I truly do believe that we should all unite as one. It feels as though racism towards white people is not as bad as racism towards other ethnicities. Most people wouldn’t even call it racism, simply because the issue has nothing to do with the ethnicity itself. It’s more concerning the fact that white culture suppresses all other cultures, which leads into such negative thoughts/feelings towards the situation. I don’t blame all white people, but I can’t deny that most of our problems are directly linked to all of them. The reason why we transformed this image into an ad campaign is to create an opposition towards all the ads out there promoting the progression of white culture. This ad represents a symbolic way of ending the power trip, by presenting them dead. The fashion industry has some deep issues regarding representation of diversity and these ads are an extreme point of view of those issues. Is there another way of adding fairness to this planet without getting rid of white people? Is it possible to move on from all the pain and suffering caused by the dominance of white culture? Is racism against white people ok? I don’t know.
