Kim Jones On Designing The Dior Air Jordan 1

A new documentary sees artistic director Kim Jones talk through the newly released Dior Air Jordan 1 and Dior Jordan capsule collection. The sneakerhead talks about his life-long obsession with Air Jordans as he goes through his infamous trainer collection, which is rumoured to border on upwards of 500 pairs. Jones also talks through the design process, staying true to the core design of the AJ1, right down to the stitching, with the short film also goes into the workshop revealing exactly how the iconic trainer is put together. Made from Italian leather in Dior grey, with painted edges, this collaboration marks the meeting of luxury, craft and sneaker culture like never before.

Alongside the recently dropped trainers, comes a capsule collection which encapsulates Michael Jordan's sophisticated, streetwear sensibility, drawing on archetypal silhouettes from both the Dior and Jordan archives.
