Here's How To Get The Dior Air Jordan 1s
Since the Dior Men's Pre-Fall '20 show in Miami, Kim Jones aficionados have been waiting for the Dior Air Jordan 1 to drop. Released in Paris last week, today the limited run is available on a first come first served basis in London. Available in both high-top and low-top, ordered via a special minisite buyers will be limited to one item each and a pop-up in Selfridges will serve as a pick up point.
Coinciding with the 35th anniversary of the Air Jordan, first made famous by basketball player Michael Jordan, the Dior Air Jordan 1 features white and grey leather with a Dior monogrammed Swoosh. The Jordan Wings logo has been updated to read 'Air Dior' and the design is finished with a translucent outsole. Each pair is individually numbered on the ankle lining.
Having heralded the unification of casual, sportswear culture and luxury during his tenure at Louis Vuitton, memorably so with the A/W 17 Supreme collaboration, artistic director Kim Jones has gone on to define a new era at Dior Men's since his debut S/S 19 collection. Jones' artisanal take on menswear staples and accessories has seen Dior collaborating with the likes of KAWS and Matthew Williams, and the Pre-Fall '20 show saw Shawn Stüssy's unmistakable hand redesign the Dior logo, which was presented via insignia knits and Stephen Jones millinery. A self-confessed sneaker head, the Dior Jordan collaboration is the ultimate next move for Kim Jones.
There will also be a Dior x Jordan ready-to-wear and accessories capsule collection available in select Dior boutiques, including silk shorts decorated with a graphic Christian Dior motif and a bomber jacket complete with the Jordan Jumpman logo. For the first time, all designs are finished with a lining featuring the Dior Oblique motif.
'I love mixing together different worlds, different ideas – Jordan Brand and Dior are both emblematic of absolute excellence in their fields. To bring them together in this special collaboration is to propose something exciting and truly new' Kim Jones, Artistic Director of Dior Men’s.
