Etro Transcends Time and Space With Digital Art
In the last handful of years the evolution of art has turned to the digital realm. Brands big and small have sought the expertise of pioneering digital developers to revolutionise their online image. Need proof? Just look at SHOWstudio’s very own ikon-1 project that saw digital creatives design virtual garments to create the ultimate online wardrobe. Well, Etro isn’t shying away from the capabilities of the digital realm with their latest campaign embracing the power of artificial intelligence.
Etro's Creative Director Marco De Vincenzo teamed up with digital artist Silvia Badalotti to bring his S/S 24 campaign dubbed ‘Nowhere’ to life. Utilising artificial intelligence, the campaign is more than a series of images, it’s a dialogue between man and machine. The result is an ethereal dreamscape tinged with an otherworldly haze that expertly blurs the digital realm with Vincenzo’s fantastical vision for Etro.
At the heart of ‘Nowhere’ are ornate prints from Etro’s archive which add an old-world quality to the impossible scenes. Blurring the lines between reality and imagination, the campaign sees starry skies and otherworldly gardens act as transformative backgrounds to the heritage brand’s quintessential designs that are both nostalgic and futuristic. It’s this tension of the past and the present that imbues each image with an energy evocative of afternoons getting lost in Renaissance masterpieces.
Etro's S/S 24 campaign is more than just a fashion statement; it's a testament to the harmonious collaboration between human ingenuity and artificial intelligence, bringing to life a world where the unimaginable becomes reality. The collection invites fashion enthusiasts to embark on a journey beyond the conventional, exploring the limitless possibilities that arise from the synergy between art, technology, and human imagination. Here's hoping we get to explore Etro's digital world more in the future.
