Living in a city, it’s often difficult not to feel like a corporate drone. Mindlessly wandering from home to the office to the gym to the grocery store and back home only to repeat the same mundane tasks day after day. Well, Bottega Veneta are making the everyday extra special with their Winter 23 campaign. With Milan as the backdrop, the images and accompanying fashion film shot by four different creatives elevates city living with models donning creative director Matthieu Blazy’s third collection for the Italian heritage brand.
Making us rethink the ordinary is quickly defining Blazy’s time at Bottega, beginning with his debut collection featuring leather looks painted to look like cotton button up shirts and denim jeans. This time around Blazy enlisted photographers Louise & Maria Thornfeldt, Malick Bodian and Sander Muylaert to turn the everyday into awe-inspiring scenes. Starring top models Liu Wen and Mariacarala Boscona, along with fresh faces Paola Manes and Walid Fiher, the campaign repositions Milan’s everyday spaces as architectural wonders (all with the help of Blazy’s expertly crafted A/W 23 collection, of course).
Along with the campaign imagery is a fashion film shot by longtime brand collaborator Massimiliano Bomba. With ‘fashion in motion’, the slogan of Blazy’s tenure, the film expertly captures the movement of the innovative designs like the show-stopping aquamarine feather coat, knitted dresses, and the much coveted Andiamo bag which is quickly becoming a staple among today's fashion crowd. Apparently all it takes to make life a little less boring is a wardrobe from Bottega Veneta.
