Was there a little nod to JK Husymans's tortoise with his jeweled shell, if only by way of oblique reference and an appreciation for beautiful darkness? What stood out about Alexander McQueen was its emphasis on literal hardness and geometics in nature, turtle shells, bees honeycombs and maybe even poppy flowers with their mind altering centers. As humans, we are soft and vulnerable to so many things because of a heightened mind awareness, the poppy, flowers, sweetness, can deepen or relieve this. There is no hard shell here, and we build communities much like the bees, but without clear hierarchy anymore. The latter is good, though, and so was everything about this show, from the lemon chiffon one shoulder dress to the exploding blossom dresses at the finale. There's  not much to say, save for it's hard, yes yes, to disagree.
