It's tough when you're a redhead and a collection is steeped in shades of the very colours (outdated) fashion wisdom forbids you to wear. Who cares, though, when cherry, hot pink and raspberry are re-imagined by Thakoon Panichgul in ombre satin stripes - 'neon beam,' per the show notes - ruches or wrinkled leather and silk or wool crepe? For those of us who follow the rules, there were also shots of oatmeal, purple and black.
The standout in the the latter was a duchesse satin tuxedo suit with halter top and tailored trouser. Exposed backs and geometric peek-a-boo skin beneath stiff collars lent levity to heavy paperbag waists and the occasional leather basket weave panel or peacock reference. The origami bows at the back of a few skirts were just lovely, though, as was the silk jacquard cut-out trench dress.
