The future of the planet has never been more sceptical. People are acting, but desperate urgency is needed, evidenced by the United Nations Climate Change Conference, COP26, which will take place next month. In conjunction, creative agency Art Partner have united with UNESCO’s Regional Bureau for Sciences in Latin America and the Caribbean, presenting a unique competition surrounding the climate with the hopes of encouraging young artists to highlight the pressing issues at hand.

Dedicated to a generation mobilised and aware that they are inheriting a planet in peril, #CreateCOP26 speaks from activist to activist designed to be an open call for creatives to get their work out there while also spreading much-needed awareness. Receiving hundreds of submissions from 54 countries across six continents, eight jurors selected a total of nine finalists who, as of today, have just been announced. Understanding that the link between art and politics is a fruitful one each piece of work successfully uncovers the beauty of the planet while highlighting its danger.
