Live Review: Proenza Schouler S/S 24 Womenswear
Live from New York, editor Hetty Mahlich reviews the Proenza Schouler S/S 24 womenswear show.
When a brand presents a different aesthetic choice for the runway - contrasting what's offered in stores - a divide is inevitably created, splitting even a brand's most loyal customers; Proenza Schouler designers Jack McCullough and Lazaro Hernandez know this all too well. However for S/S 24, the brand reinvented the wheel by unveiling their brand new monogram and revisiting signature styles that have proven popular in the past.
Mahlich defiantly notes of the collection as 'creative, clever and, clean'; notions evident in the design and cut, underpinning the show's narrative. Mahlich also speaks of a relaxed coolness present on the S/S 24 runway this season, thanks to today's ballet shoe trend that designers McCullough and Hernandez have made sure to tap into.
