DIGITAL (GRAPHIC/WEB) DESIGNER

SHOWstudio has an amazing opportunity for you to join our team as a Digital Designer. Please note this is a graphic design/web design/motion graphics-based role; it is not a photography/fashion (garment) design/film role. As a Digital Designer at SHOWstudio, you must be a creative problem-solver, very organised, and have good time management skills. This role requires someone who is a self-starter who can efficiently multitask and understand how to deliver a project from conception to completion. Excellent presentation and communication skills are essential. It is also important that you are a team player, able to handle criticism and implement direction to improve designs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Taking direction from Nick Knight and senior team members to produce visual concepts and design work for print, web, social, apps and film.
  • Developing appropriate design solutions for any internal brief from SHOWstudio gallery, shop, film or editorial department.
  • Brainstorming, storyboarding and sketching designs for new projects.
  • Creating eye-catching presentations to appeal to clients/stakeholders.
  • Designing and delivering title cards, design elements and motion graphics for our video content, including fashion films and interviews.
  • Converting video, audio, written, and graphic components into compatible formats for the web and using content management systems.
  • Creating, managing, and producing digital design solutions for a variety of uses: websites, product graphics, email templates, social media graphics, brand campaigns, and photography.
  • Collaborating with developers and creative technology team to implement new web/app features.
  • Report to the Project Manager and senior team about progress and deadlines.
  • Planning / communicating with other teams to ensure designs match available levels of resourcing.
  • Have a good understanding of current design and media trends and apply this to your work.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Graduate with a relevant degree or equivalent experience.
  • 2-4 years experience working within a similarly fast-paced and creative environment.
  • A passion for the arts and fashion.
  • Excellent visual design skills with an eye for detail, with good knowledge of the potential and limitations of modern responsive web design, typography and grid-based design systems.
  • A digital portfolio of work which demonstrates your flair and accompanying description outlining your specific involvement in the creation of each design 
  • Adobe Creative Suite – particularly Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects / Premiere / MediaEncoder.
  • Experience creating motion graphics.
  • Experience creating pitch decks using InDesign, Keynote, and Google Slides.
  • Experience in producing artwork for materials, posters, postcards and invitations.
  • Experience in converting video, audio, written, and graphic components into compatible web / social media formats.
  • Experience in content management and publishing web content using a CMS.
  • Solid understanding of the capabilities and limitations of different social media platforms.
  • Work effectively and efficiently with software, ensuring your file management and delivery are well structured and considered.
  • Well organised and excellent at managing schedules and timings.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work and learn independently.
  • A high degree of understanding of design and design strategy for Social Media is key.
  • An ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines with a positive, can-do attitude.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • A strong sense of team with the capacity to be flexible, practical, and collaborative.
  • Legal right to work in the United Kingdom.

BENEFICIAL SKILLS

  • Fashion-related background and experience would be an advantage
  • Experience with 3D software (Blender/Cinema4D) would be a big bonus
  • Experience in design tools such as Figma or Adobe XD
  • Excellent knowledge of the latest CSS and HTML standards is a bonus

LOCATION

London
This is not a remote working position. You will be required to work from the Studio 5 days a week.
