Lubaina Himid is an artist and lecturer who lives in Preston.  When I was a lecturer at the University of Central Lancashire, Lubaina was a supporter of some of my early projects and extremely helpful in developing the research side of my practice.  In this recent programme broadcast on Radio 4, she provides a wonderful portrait of a city that is very close to me.  It’s still available on iPlayer, I’d thoroughly recommend having a listen http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b083j4rk

James Hyman and Tory Turk have been very supportive of North and visiting the Hyman Archive - the largest collection of magazines in the world - was such a great experience. A number of magazines have been loaned and scanned for the exhibition. Groove, November 1993
In the exhibition we wanted to display some of the original magazines, so we commissioned Alisdair and Theo Simpson to produce bespoke display units for Gallery 1&2. Here is a small glimpse of Arena Homme+ A/W 04/05 in one of the vitrines in Gallery 1.
