Shortlist: THE RITE
When Stravinsky’s The Rite of Spring first premiered in 1913, its never-before-scene use of ballet composition and choreography was so scandalous that a riot broke out. For the 106th anniversary of this piece, Culture Device - a dance group comprised solely of dancers with Down Syndrome - held a 10 week residency at the Royal Opera House, reimagining and reinterpreting the ballet.
