- How would you describe what you do?
Jazzelle Zanaughtti: Jazzelle. Although I do make-up, hair, styling, creative direction, and model, I could never exclusively link my self to one of those things individually. They are just the tools I use to bring a vision to life. If I’m anything, I’m a storyteller.
- What's your background?
JZ: Creatively speaking, I have long standing background in club culture, first finding myself in Chicago as a club kid in 2013. Throughout those formative years I taught myself how to do make-up, hair, and how to make dreams into reality. Since, I have forged my own path to high levels in the fashion industry as a model and creative.
- What inspires you?
JZ: I’m inspired by the unseen beauty in all things good and bad. I am inspired by rebellion. I am inspired by myself, how far I’ve come and how far I will go.
- What is the ambition behind your practice?
JZ: The main ambition behind my practice is my hellbent need to outdo myself every time. I don’t create anything with anyone else in mind, I’m just telling my story. And whoever witnesses it, I just hope that they really fucking feel something. Anything.
What did you hope to convey with your Bodies Of Knowledge film?
JZ: I'll leave that for you to decide.
