Ever wanted to partake in a fashion illustration masterclass? Now's your chance as we will be hosting two workshops in our Belgravia-based studio in February, 2024.
Ever wondered what it's like to be a fashion illustrator? Maybe you've mastered traditional life drawing classes but want to try your hand at interpreting fashion in real time. If this sounds like you then listen up: on Wednesday 7 and Thursday 8 February, we will lend our Belgravia-based studio for a two-hour live fashion illustration workshop in collaboration with artist and educator Rob Unett.
In this fashion illustration workshop, participants will be taught how to use ink to depict fashion via quick, unconventional shapes, drawing from look one of Rei Kawakubo's Comme des Garçons A/W 16 collection, (dress courtesy of La Nausee Archive) in a class led by Unett. Ticket holders will be encouraged to focus on rapid, heartfelt drawing, rather than employing carefully placed brushstrokes to help them explore different styles of illustration, breaking free from any limitations traditional mark-making may impose.
On both days, we ask for ticket holders to arrive at our Belgravia studio at 18:30 for a prompt 19:00 start. Classes will last around one hour, with the evening drawing to a close at around 20:30. Materials such as paper, easel and brushes are included in the ticket price as well as the loaned fashion on display and a complimentary glass of Prosecco.
