WAH Nails Marks the End of an Era

After a decade of nail art, beauty experiences and female empowerment, WAH Nails is closing its doors forever.

After a decade of nail art, beauty experiences and female empowerment, WAH Nails is closing its doors forever.

For the past ten years WAH Nails has been providing the capital with bespoke manicures, top fashion events and a safe space for women to share experiences. Founded by businesswoman Sharmadean Reid in 2009, the nail empire was spawned from WAH Zine, Charlotte Roberts and Reid's printed fanzine, of which there were five issues.

WAH would open a nail bar at Topshop, Oxford Circus in 2010, and later launch their own product line. This was all before unveiling a flagship salon in Soho. The space merged fashion, beauty and tech, offering a virtual reality nail designer and a cocktail bar to boot.

Grieving the loss? Fear not. The WAH Nails Instagram account hints at upcoming events as well as new ventures in the beauty industry. While you wait for Reid's next power moves, revisit the trailblazer in our 200 Portraits project.
