Virgil Abloh Offers Unique Creation of the Jitney 2.0 Bag for Christies Auction

Many luxury fashion houses, designers and contemporary artists have joined forces with their offerings for the Christie's auction Bid for the Louvre including brand Off White's Virgil Abloh - who will be showcasing a one-of-a-kind version of the 2.8 Jitney handbag for the auction.
All proceeds of the auction will go towards Paris' Musée du Louvre including The Louvre Studio which is a new space set to open at the end of next year, focusing on artistic and cultural education. With Abloh offering a unique take on the 2.8 Jitney handbag to support the auction, the custom design has links to Paris' Louvre, inspired by the three pyramids that make up the renowned museum. The original design debuted in December 2019 and the custom edition, made especially for the auction, is crafted from silver Italian calfskin leather with has been embossed with a 3D effect. The design also features artisanal silver sequins, in a rectangular shape. Both unique design elements come together to resemble the sparkling nature of the pyramid structure that sits in the city's centre, encompassed by the City of Lights.
The lucky bidder that secures the embellished bag won't just walk home with the one-off custom edition, but it has also been announced that the buyer will be given tickets to an upcoming Off-White runway show, scheduled in 2021.
The 'Bid for the Louvre' catalogue of the sale will be available on both the Christie's and Drouot websites (christies.com; drouot.com and drouotdigital.com). The auction will be held on Christie's platform from December 1st to 15th, 2020.
