Nurturing young talent has always been a priority of the Rome-based house throughout the years, making it no surprise that they have announced they're throwing open their digital doors to team up with Italy's fashion body Camera Nazionale della Moda, spotlighting new designers each season on their Instagram platform. The first guest designer, Marco Rambaldi, is scheduled during Milan Fashion Week womenswear in February 2022.

Since the birth of Instagram, the platform has blown up to semi-equate with a designer's personal portfolio, out there for the world to analyse. Valentino's move towards using Instagram as a platform to showcase young designers also highlights another step towards an all-inclusive digital sphere and the enduring importance of the social media app to the fashion industry.

The decision to start with Gen-Z designer Rambaldi is owed to his approach in representing people as they are, celebrating while also highlighting many types of beauty in an attempt to break down stereotypes. It was this very impulse, rooted in a radical idea for change, that spoke to creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli personally, who's always been open about his beliefs in striving to celebrate the individual by welcoming their diversity and embracing the uniqueness of every human being.

Rambaldi highlighted this by commenting in a statement:

'The initiative with which Pierpaolo Piccioli and his team are supporting an independent brand like ours is emblematic of their ability to listen to the present moment, of farsightedness, but above all of great love for fashion. I believe that with this collaboration, Valentino affirms the desire not only to continue to write its own history but to spread and nurture all Italian fashion in the decades to come. A Maison that works alongside an emerging brand breaks the boundaries, steps outside the box, regenerates connections. Thanks to this kind of attitude and incessant work of The Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana, there remains the possibility to research and cultivate diverse talents. I think there's a real need for that, and I'm deeply grateful for it'.

Explaining, in his own words how Piccioli chose the young designers, the creative director stated:

'We decided to approach designers whose sensitivity resonates with our core identity values. Marco Rambaldi's show in Via Lecco was such a graceful and powerful celebration of humanity and a kaleidoscopic vision of beauty. That's why we decided to start this new project with his collection, and I am sure that this will be the beginning of something that will give new energies and inspiration to all of us.'

Stay tuned to witness Rambaldi's striking creations take over the Valentino Instagram in February.
