Maison Valentino are celebrating their VLogo signature with a unique art book, illustrating a series of diverse interpretations of the iconic logo design.
Never afraid to bend the house rules, creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli invited sixteen international magazines to offer up their takes on the VLogo. You might have already seen one of the images gracing the pages of your favourite fashion publications, such as 032c, Dust, Dazed, LOVE and Purple. In the series of images, editor Olivier Zahm sits poised in a VLogo adorned shirt and kitten heels, whilst Ms. Carrie Stacks elegantly reclines in front of a digital backdrop reminiscent of an Italian villa's balcony. They present their own identities and values of expression in tandem with the VLogo, which becomes the antithesis of ambiguity as a result. This is about the value of self-expression, not product.
Curated into a book, the images are interspersed with Piccioli's drawings and illustrations. It's a covetable testament to the vast range of contributors the brand surrounds itself with, having also recently launched the Rockstud X project where designers and artists will be invited to re-interpret the rock stud, another distinguishing element in Valentino's visual identity. Launching on 10 November 2020, the Valentino Garavani VLogo Signature Book will be available for purchase in Valentino boutiques worldwide and online.
