The House of Karl Lagerfeld launches ‘A Tribute to Karl: The White Shirt Project’ at Paris Fashion Week.

In honour of the late creative director Karl Lagerfeld, The House of Karl Lagerfeld has initiated ‘A Tribute to Karl: The White Shirt Project’.

Commissioning artists, actors, model, designers and friends to create their own version of Lagerfeld’s iconic white shirt, the shortlist of contributors include Kate Moss, Takashi Murakami, Lewis Hamilton, Cara Delevingne, Alessandro Michele and more. Each iteration will be produced 77 times and sold at auction for €777, with the proceeds going to French Charity, ‘Sauver La Vie’, which funds medical research at the Paris Descartes University. The number 7 was chosen because of its significance to Lagerfeld, which was his favourite number.

Curated by Carine Roitfeld, Style Advisor at Karl Lagerfeld, the exhibition will honour Lagerfeld’s legacy and his love for giving back. Roitfeld and Lagerfeld shared a close relationship professionally and personally throughout their careers, having collaborated on a number of projects.

The shirts will be showed at an exhibition at the Maison Karl Lagerfeld during Paris Fashion Week in September.
