Fusing the Italian heritage of Missoni with a Palm Angels outlook, Angela Missoni and Francesco Ragazzi unexpectedly collaborate to create a colourful capsule collection just in time for summer.

Anyone familiar with the work of Francesco Ragazzi knows the designer has always been drawn to a specific type of chaos, one that's simultaneously creative and joyous. Always relishing in the unexpected, through his need to experiment with a clash of forces, Ragazzi often creates new artistic opportunities to feast on. His most recent one? A collaboration with the colourful Italian zigzag brand, Missoni.

Like many of Ragazzi's ventures, the collaboration, although 'natural', was also unexpected. Missoni's swirls of patterns, colours, volumes and shapes came together with the streetwear aesthetic of Palm Angels; a fusion of two house codes in the name of luxury Italian craftsmanship.

Tracksuits and zip-up cardigans come in Missoni patterns, while hooded sweatshirts are more neutral, multicoloured hood strings or waistbands appearing here and there. Spray smudges multiply on sweatshirts and oversized t-shirts that can also double up as dresses while trousers and skirts hang straight and loose - emulating Palm Angels' affiliation with skate culture. Accessories such as berets, sneakers, sandals and totes are also included in the collection, introduced so the wearer can style up or style down.

In both brands their signature aesthetics - Missoni's colour and Palm Angels' luxury streetwear - a new identity is created. Ragazzi's starting point for the collaboration was looking through the Missoni archives, becoming inspired by the house's Italian heritage. 'Missoni is an authentic landmark of Italian creation and artisanal know-how.' He admits, going on to explain that, 'with this collaboration, we wanted to offer a different take, my own take actually, on the Missoni heritage. (It's) A fusion of both DNAs, with an urban, relaxed feel'.

Commenting on Ragazzi's work, Angela Missoni of Missoni stated:

'I have been drawn to Francesco's work with Palm Angels from the very beginning for its unique energy. My parents founded Missoni on an open mindset: a pioneering spirit which I brought forward through all the collaborations I developed over the years. I am particularly proud of how fresh and spontaneous the dialogue with Palm Angels came out.'

Are you looking to update your wardrobe with a spot of colour? The Palm Angels x Missoni collaboration may just be the one for you.

The collection will be available to buy in stores and online from 30 June.
