For the latest 1017 ALYX 9SM collection, Williams has curated a music project debuting with Ethel Cain.

For designer Matthew M. Williams, music has always been paramount. The mood of his runway collections for his own brand, 1017 ALYX 9SM, and for Givenchy, where he has been the creative director since 2020, is always perfectly reflected in the carefully curated soundtrack composed by his favourite musicians and artists. Then there's the fact that Williams began his professional career as a creative director for world-famous musicians like Lady Gaga and Kanye West (now known as Ye). Bringing things back to where they first started, 1017 ALYX 9SM have announced their new music project, with Compilation vol.1 including a track by Ethel Cain.

With Cain having fronted the Givenchy A/W 22 campaign stills and fashion film by Nick Knight, Williams once again turns to those in the vast creative circle he collaborates with to curate the world of 1017 ALYX 9SM for the brand's cult following. Drawing on a range of musical genres and cultures across his work, the mixtape project was launched in collaboration with longtime friend, Alamo records founder & CEO Todd Moscowitz, with Cain's song FAMOUS LAST WORDS (An ode to eaters) leading the debut.

Expect to see further singles drop across the summer, with the full compilation set to be released in early September.
