Stefano Gallici, creative director at Ann Demeulemeester, will release his first pre-collection for the S/S 25 season since being promoted last June. The pre-collection is a quintessential, curated closet that aims for elegance and sophistication yet, between the threads, it speaks loudly on an elemental essential that binds the poetry in Demeulemeester's history to the song of Gallici’s self, which is music.

In casting London-based musician October Logan from one-woman band October and the Eyes, Gallici refreshes the sonic language inherent within Ann Demeulemeester for a new era. Their creative partnership follows up on Gallici’s KIDS project for the house, a self-documented photo journal of his artist and musician friends that harmonise a continuum from Demeulemeeter's past to its present.

Ann Demeulemeester S/S 25 Pre-collection

Stefano Gallici with October Logan, instinctively reflect the house’s authentic-in-life friendship histories with musicians Patti Smith, PJ Harvey and Jaime Bochert. On its face, the uniform for Demeulemeester S/S 25 pre-collection may offer clothes etched over with October and the Eyes infusions — a lyric here, ‘masculin-feminin’ dualities of a ‘louche’ life there — but the magic is an unwavering dedication to the outer reaches, those burgeoning creative communities Gallici reveres. Just as Demeulemeester has orchestrated since 1985, Gallici twists music and musicians into a palpable range of transparency, languid suiting and combat pull-ups that fashion a boundless, poetic utopia.

Ann Demeulemeester S/S 25 Pre-collection

Stefano Gallici continues his steadily divergent path to translate the Ann Demeulemeester language, his way, in the S/S 25 pre-collection. Pulling October into the mix alongside 2020s iconic sullen-faced model Steinberg and Marcel Castenmiller shows his assurance with sonic, sartorial distortion that reinvigorates the Demeulemeester identity with more of his own decidedly darkwave, noise immersions.
