Seoul-based label Solid Homme has tapped cult-favourite designers Jake Burt and Stefan Cooke to reimagine their archive spanning three decades.

Through the lens of Jake Burt and Stefan Cooke, Seoul-based label Solid Homme is getting a Brit-led refresh of their three-decades-old archive. Founded in 1988 by South Korean designer Woo Youngmi, Solid Homme has established itself as a national classic thanks to its sophisticated modernisation of minimal menswear. Already masterful at merging innovation and tradition, insight from the Stefan Cooke co-designers sees Solid Homme’s codes further shaped through Burt and Cooke’s imagined Americana.

The collection features standout pieces that redefine everyday essentials. A meticulously crafted field jacket, faded and adorned with a grid of hand-painted, enamelled studs, offers a rugged yet polished look. Looking at the subcultural wardrobes of New York along with 15th-century armour at London’s Wallace Collection, rivet details harken to streetwear rebels as much as medieval protagonists. The result is a piece that feels both contemporary and timeless, blending the raw edge of urban fashion with the historical weight of armour.

A boxy police jacket, available in black leather or tan cotton, is enhanced with self-covered studs, adding a subtle edge to a timeless silhouette. For those who prefer a more relaxed vibe, a heavy-duty hoodie in a washed-out dusk purple, finished with white enamelled studs, brings a touch of elevated ease to any wardrobe. The subtle yet impactful embellishments, like the self-covered studs and enamel finishes, add layers of texture and interest, ensuring these pieces are as functional as they are expressive.

Transcending time and space the A/W 24 collaboration goes beyond fashion; it’s about a lifestyle that blends tradition with modernity, and comfort with style. This collection not only pays homage to Solid Homme’s rich history but also introduces a fresh narrative that speaks to a global audience, uniting the old and the new, the familiar and the unexpected. It’s a collection that challenges conventions while respecting heritage, appealing to those who appreciate the art of fashion as a form of self-expression.
