Just in time for party season, pioneering shapewear brand Skims has unveiled a glittering collection with some help from crystal purveyors Swarovski. The Skims x Swarovski collaboration marries comfort and opulence, offering fashion-conscious consumers an entirely new level of loungewear elegance. While the undergarments have always been synonymous with functionality, Skims has consistently sought to redefine how we see shapewear, and their latest collection does just that.
‘It's been a dream since I joined Swarovski to create a first-ever collaboration with Skims that furthers the art of self-expression,’ says Swarovski creative director Giovanna Engelbert. ‘Our collection is a celebration of the body, and of strong, independent women who value their individuality and embrace life with confidence and style.’
The collection features an array of Skims' signature pieces adorned with Swarovski crystals, carefully placed to create a harmonious balance between style and comfort. Inspired by Swarovski’s Millenia collection, the lineup features cosy loungewear sets and sleek bodysuits and robes adorned with crystal-cut embellishment. In line with Skims’ ethos, the collection is size-inclusive and made to flatter every figure.
'For this collaboration, we really wanted to celebrate individual creativity and bring more glamour into getting dressed every day,’ says Skims co-founder and creative director Kim Kardashian. ‘The pieces are so dreamy and we loved integrating the iconic crystal cuts into my favourite Skims pieces.’
The Skims x Swarovski collection is the brand’s most fashion-forward yet, which is reflected in the collaboration campaign imagery. Shot by renowned fashion photographer Mert Alas, the campaign stars none other than Kardashian herself in the glittering collection. Showcasing how shapewear can be so much more than undergarments, the imagery highlights the glamour and versatility of the collection, being styled with matching accessories.
Working exclusively with Selfridges, Skims x Swarovski is taking over their iconic Oxford Street location with a special pop-up. All the shining body jewellery, intimates, and ready-to-wear will launch at Selfridges on 7 November with a four-week-long pop-up in the women’s contemporary studio on the third floor. And for those unable to trek to London, the collaboration will be available globally on Skims.com and Swarovski stores.
