Choosing to stand in solidarity with the sporting community, SHOWstudio and Nick Knight will take part in an Instagram boycott against online abuse and racism.

In a four-day long boycott of Instagram, from 3pm today until 11.59pm on Monday 3 May 2021, the football community have been joined by various other sporting communities, including the Rugby Union, the Rugby League, Cricket and various corporate bodies, (Barclays, adidas and Sky Sports included), to make a stand against abuse, racism and discrimination of any sort. A recent investigation by the Professional Footballers' Association, the players' union, found 56 abusive posts on Twitter in November 2020 alone; the sports community is saying enough is enough and SHOWstudio is behind them all the way.

The fight against racism is all of ours to shoulder. SHOWstudio actively condemns any racism and discrimination in any industry, recognising that this is a matter which extends far and wide beyond the sporting community. Social media giants must be held accountable for refusing to clamp down on online abuse. Large media corporations must be held accountable for their actions. This boycott, which covers this weekend's sporting fixtures, signifies the anger felt by many. We call for change, and we demand it now.
