Ali Is Full Of Love

KNWLS S/S 25 Campaign Film

Free association game: ‘Dependable. Sexy. Slinky. Dominating. Delicate. Comfortable. Powerful.’

‘K-N-W-L-S.’

This is how model, one-time Playboy Playmate and 2010s mutable girl globe Ali Michael relates to Charlotte Knowles and Alexandre Arsenault’s sultry fashion label called KNWLS. For their S/S 25 campaign film, the KNWLS muse returns to a girlish room in a girlish realm. Here is where Michael appears most comfortable to share her likes, dislikes and thoughts on KNWLS’ collection. Ali Michael gives good flashback. There was that time her relationship narrated the overarching melodrama of first to last teenage love in The XX’s ‘On Hold’ clip. Before that, Michael performed a nine-step program of maximum girlishness in Nick Knight and Rei Nadal’s Girl fashion film, an avant-peurile stomp through sullen stereotypes. Come to think of it, Michael has essentially presented a lifespan of a certain type of female — from a little girl in Meadham Kirchhoff to a young woman moving about in KNWLS as a nomad — these past eleven or so years. Maybe KNWLS is on to something about her effortless, free-spirited nature being an inspiration to the label.

Dior Men On The Green

Remember when Mrs. Prada staged an all-out assault on horrid golf tropes for a spectacular menswear collection over a decade ago? Boy was it good. Seems that Dior Men is taking their interlude without an announced artistic directorial presence to relax a bit, borrow a cue from Mrs. Prada and exhale with a few rounds of golf.

Observing golf raises our Dior Man-fan eyebrows. Considering Dior Men has explored virtuosic dance, spoken word, plus the House of Beauty and Culture before (much cooler fare), how now is golf pour homme? Do these boys know something we don't?

Maybe the striking '80s aesthetics at play keep the capsule on the right side of masculine earnestness (never a good look). Harringtons and check plaids from British football casuals give the capsule collection toughness. Its sportswear lexicon sprinkled across blousons, tracksuits and Dior B27 and B33 trainers makes you curious as to how an overtly-preppy spirit of Ivy League and country club points to something someone might desire.

Perhaps Dior Man’s kitschy range of CD logos in a golf typeface, fringed trainers and reimagined golf-themed bags don’t refer to baggage this type of man carries. If stock market fallouts from U.S. tariff hikes have their say, Dior Men’s new lifestyle capsule collection is the timeout those men will need for relaxation when they tee off this month. And maybe us too.

RIMOWA Archive Goes Pop

To commemorate values RIMOWA staked its foundation on in 1898, the German Maison takes us back to 1988. In this year, RIMOWA introduced ‘der Reisekoffer für junge Leute’ — the travel case for young people. For the new RIMOWA Holiday Case, neon brights and electrifying hues from the 1980s design world take root in 2025. The Holiday Case reimagines nostalgia to evoke the thrill of vibrant adventures. Colours reminiscent of the Memphis Group or Roy Lichtenstein comics ignite a sense of exuberance and graphic intensity, contained in RIMOWA’s lightweight polycarbonate, aerodynamic portability and high contrasts of colour. The Holiday Case offers both style and practicality with color-matched interiors, an adjustable shoulder strap for ease of movement with the usual RIMOWA routine lifetime guarantee. Weaving pop art tonality into the Holiday Case, RIMOWA honours the size and stature of an art world in movement: the rise of Koons!

Y-3 In Suburban Stillness

For its S/S 25 campaign, Y-3 engaged photographers Petra Collins and Moni Haworth in their latest composition of solitude. Once again using Los Angeles to paint a specific scene, this particular Y-3 LA campaign examines monastic comfort between body and environment. Isolation sets a backdrop to place focus intently on Collins as postures imply meditation that radiates the steel of a female-driven gaze.

The Y-3 Regu in mary jane and boot styles allay discomfort Petra Collins might feel from a range of beautiful, grotesque perceptions she may come across when misunderstood. A pregnant pause to centre oneself on an empty street is inspiring. No wonder Collins and the Y-3 Regu promote a balletic torsion to ease tension that maintains a gracious sensibility for whatever lies ahead. In an era of gratuitous skin on display, Y-3 emphasises balance once again to wrap the body in volume, thereby revealing resolute positivity within negative spaces in Collins’ private world.

Dr. Martens 1 April, 1460

On 1 April, 2025 Dr. Martens celebrated 65 years of its iconic 1460 boot by releasing their 1460 MIE Pascal Love Letter. Borne from a fusion of British craftsmanship and German innovation, the prototypical 1460 redefined footwear, merging utilitarian durability with a now-longstanding subcultural edge. The 1460 retains its status in the pantheon of the DM universe: craft that marries countries; timeless influence; that yellow topstitch we all know; the legendary DM air-cushioned sole. An ironic limited edition, only 1460 pairs will be produced in the native production home where Dr. Martens’ journey began — Wollaston, Northamptonshire.

The 1460 MIE Pascal Love Letter boot is both tangible love letter and true collector’s item. Deep burgundy leather comes alive with natural oils and waxes that develop a unique patina over its life span. Your personal Dr. Martens story becomes written in every step. The rebellious spirit of Dr. Martens blending heritage with culture (from skinheads to goths…don’t you miss subcultures? stupid tumblr) continues to innovate in a way that burns brightly for future-facing punks.

Miss Sixty At Machine-A? YAY!

Miss Sixty brings a celebratory sense of denim with campy cosplay from Bella Hadid to Machine-A for an in-store takeover. For the S/S 25 collection, Miss Sixty revisits the golden age of denim, when their palpably sexy campaigns reigned supreme. Miss Sixty balloon-flared denim in a sepia-meets-pastel toned S/S 03 campaign is etched in my mind. Kate Beckinsale wearing Miss Sixty’s deep indigo wash with ankle zips repositioned frontally in her Flaunt magazine A/W 03 editorial is etched in my mind. Asia Argento in Miss Sixty tobacco wash, fronting their A/W 05 campaign could have been the little sister to Kate Moss’ A/W 05 Dior campaign. Miss Sixty was that bish.

Miss Sixty looks to reawaken that bish at the shop Stavros Karelis built. Campaign imagery placing Bella Hadid inside an LA-based retro supermarket not too far removed from those Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis argued inside on That 70s Show, amplifies our current appetite for flared denim. Thanks Carlijn Jacobs!

‘Both Machine-A & Miss Sixty have become a point of reference for the young audience in London and internationally and this partnership is a true celebration of it. The Summer collection featured on Bella Hadid, which is launching exclusively at MACHINE-A , is really the epitome of nostalgic 2000s in the most modern & coolest way.’

— Stavros Karelis Founder MACHINE-A

Miss Sixty at Machine-A launches with a preview event, where VIPs can enjoy the retro-modernity while taking in a CIROC cocktail. Lively window dressing invites Soho passers-by into a world where bold colors, textures and green apples are bountiful. Visit Machine-A in celebration of Miss Sixty’s return to audaciously slick denim that, when worn with presence, makes a memorable statement.

Miss Sixty’s S/S 25 in-store installation will be open from Thursday 3 April until Tuesday 22 April, at Machine-A London.
