Sevdaliza Is The New Face Of The Fabricant
Fashion brands will always have their muses. Givenchy had Audrey Hepburn, and Gucci has Harry Styles. But what about metaverse-based brands? Well, digital-only fashion house The Fabricant is following the time-honoured tradition by signing Iranian-Dutch musician Sevdaliza as the new face of their line of digital wearables XXories. Described by The Frabricant as the brand’s ‘icon’, the partnership between the pioneering platform and experimental electronic musician marks the first time a high-profile (real-world) artist has become the face of a digital-only fashion collection.
No stranger to utilising innovative technologies in her music, there couldn’t be a more fitting face for The Fabricant than Sevdaliza. The provocative performer has long pushed the boundaries with her visuals, most recently with the music video for her single Woman Life Freedom which was created entirely through AI. Already adept to the digital fashion zeitgeist, Sevdaliza stars in the brand’s campaign showcasing the XXories collection. The lineup consists of digital accessories including earrings, facial piercings and nose chains. All of which can be worn through AR.
‘We’ve been inspired by her as an artist for a long time, and the uncompromising self-expression she brings to everything she creates,’ explains The Fabricant co-founder and creative director Amber Slooten. ‘It’s a spirit that’s in total alignment with our beliefs as a digital fashion house. Fearless exploration of identity beyond physical boundaries is what we enable in everyone who wears our pieces.’
The line will be released as part of The Fabricant’s digital project WHOLELAND. The digital experience is split into distinct chapters all featuring exclusive digital couture, AR wearables, fashion shows, and metaverse meet-ups. As the key into WHOLELAND only owners of XXories will be able to explore the exciting new space and gain unique benefits and privileges as the virtual space continues to evolve.
The XXories collection will be available to purchase exclusively on The Fabricant’s website on 16 February.
