Robyn Lynch and C.P. Company open their Laboratorio at Milan Design Week
C.P. Company immerses its special blend of technical and visionary expertise into Milan Design week, also known as Salone de Mobile. The company unveils LABORATORIO, an interactive expo that showcases C.P. Company’s dedication to the lifecycle of products. That C.P. Company has partnered with Dublin-born menswear designer Robyn Lynch for the three-day event is an added, logical bonus. Their collaboration that began with Robyn Lynch A/W 24, as documented on the designer's website journal page. Now, the project continues in Milan.
Both C.P. and Robyn Lynch engage their customers in genuine subcultural conversations. Decades ago, C.P Company redefined their version of the Italian workwear uniform, whose symbolism resonated with the UK Casuals brand of editorial hooliganism as well as the logo-obsessed Italian Paninaro. Robyn Lynch has connected her designs to this wave in a short time. Lynch elevates her family memories and hi-performance menswear aptitude by finding ingenious ways to incorporate emotion into traditional Irish aran knits for five years now. Fashion has observed Lynch tackle gorp core, happy hardcore and the highly embellished core of Irish dance performances.
Lynch’s A/W 24 dissection of the famous C.P. Company goggle jacket points directly to key LABORATORIO workshops and conversations. Scheduled topics centered around garment interplay, repurposing what already exists to extend, to customise the original into something that feels new.
From 17 to 19 April 2024, Lynch once again investigates relationships at LABORATORIO. This three-day programme also includes an installation that spotlights what Robyn Lynch Ireland and C.P Company do best by consistently looking into their products with the consumers who wear them.
