Valentino's sister label REDValentino have chosen Timo Helgert to virtually capture the entanglement of mother nature and city spaces for their Pre-Spring 2021 collection.
Valentino's sister label REDValentino have chosen Timo Helgert to virtually capture the entanglement of mother nature and city spaces for their Pre-Spring 2021 collection.
REDValentino have taken inspiration from the city and the natural environment for their latest collection, focusing on the fast-paced aspect of mother nature while wanting the frantic beat of the city to slow; a concept that artist Timo Helgert is all too familiar with. Famous for his virtual installations that merge urban landscapes with nature, REDValentino have chosen to work with the artist to digitally shoot the new collection, allowing him to stamp his distinctive trademark and artistic and personal point of view.
Showcasing the essence of the idyllic REDValentino woman, the campaign represents elegance and rebellion, finding a balance between spontaneity and sophistication.
Clothes and accessories are placed in virtual metropolitan environments, created by Helgert. The backgrounds are portrayed in such a way that they appear contaminated by nature which manifests in the form of grass and flowers that intertwine with bridges, roads and subway cars. Merged within these hyperrealistic environments is a collection that reflects natural beauty; embroidered frocks, jacquard trench coats, knitted cardigans and tulle skirts—all decorated with different illustrative blossoms.
Like SHOWstudio, Timo Helgert is a vast believer in technology and the digital possibilities of what it means to explore and communicate fashion. Sharing a passion for AI with our founder, Nick Knight, Helgert is influenced by many directions and processes that help him to create such labyrinthine landscapes.
