Raf Simons has launched a new online retail platform called History Of My World, named after a title first used for the designer’s tenth anniversary collection from 2005. Distinct from the Raf Simons brand, the online shop will offer pieces curated by Simons which 'reflect the designer's point of view, aesthetic and philosophy,' said the brand in a statement. Instead of Raf Simons' own brand products, History Of My World sees the Belgian designer move into a position more akin to that of a fashion buyer or curator.
Items for sale include homeware, literature and clothing, with unique pieces, limited edition items and special collaborations also on offer. 45 unique one-off blankets elaborating on his Spring/Summer 2021 theme of family and community designed by the Raf Simons Studio are to be sold for the first time, alongside candles and a selection of publications created by Raf Simons: Raf Simons Isolated Heroes (1999), Woe Onto Those Who Spit on the Fear Generation The Wind Will Blow it Back... (2002) and Raf Simons Redux (2005). All of these books will be signed by Simons himself.
Back in July, Simons announced that he would reissue 100 iconic pieces from his archive to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the brand. Called 'Raf Simons Archive Redux' - another nod to one of his previous publications - the collection is set to go on sale this month. It seems likely that these Simons' reissued archive pieces will go on sale on History Of My World so keep your eyes peeled on the new retail platform over the upcoming weeks.
