Emilio Pucci’s psychedelic prints are the stuff of fashion legend. At the Italian designer's height of popularity in the 1960s, It-girls from around the world flocked to the lavish illustrations that defined his silk jersey dresses. It’s one aquatic print in particular that’s come to define creative director Camille Miceli’s latest campaign for the brand and offers a sneak peek ahead of her runway show in April.
First introduced in 1965, the Vivara collection was inspired by a crescent-shaped island in the Gulf of Naples. The natural beauty of the island is evoked in the print's eye-catching shades of bright blues mirroring the crystal clear Mediterranean coastline. More than just a print, the Vivara collection has become one of the brand’s most recognisable thanks in part to the designer’s first fragrance of the same name.
Miceli’s Very Vivara campaign celebrates the iconic print with a poolside shoot by legendary fashion photographer Mario Sorrenti. Starring model of the moment Vittoria Ceretti, swathed in the visually striking pattern as she takes a dip in azure waters, the campaign captures of the aquatic energy of the brand’s legendary print.
Intertwining the past and present, Sorrenti’s images emphasise the timeless allure of Pucci’s designs and serve as a preview of the brand’s upcoming show. Set to take place on 4 April in Rome, Miceli promises her latest Pucci show will be rooted in the organic geometry of the Vivara print. With water at the heart of the next collection, the Very Vivara campaign is just a sneak peek at the brand’s upcoming collection that’s sure to make waves.
