Published By Are Turning Car Parts Into Covetable Bags
Fashion is in something of a Neo-Space Age. That is, our collective fascination with technology has expanded to all aspects of creativity. Fashion included. Case in point: Published By is using 3D technology to transform old industrial scraps into the bags of the future. For their A/W 24 collection, the futurists are blurring the lines between hardware and aesthetics, while reducing waste in the process.
This season brings a fusion of Published By's iconic designs and a new line of elevated everyday classics, expanding the brand's commitment to pushing the boundaries of traditional design. Utilising cutting-edge 3D technologies, the brand introduces its new Tote Bag, Cross Body Bag, and Shopping Bag, adorned with mirrored motifs. Industrial metal is reworked into clasps, chains, and sculptural embellishments.
The organic shapes that define the collection were inspired by the landscapes of Austria. Founder and creative director Christoph Tsetinis drew inspiration from the mountainscapes of his home country. Fabric-bonded metal, echoing the curves and ridges found in outdoor climbing gear from the 1970s, defines the collection. Just like the enduring mountains, these pieces are designed to withstand the test of time while continuing to shape the distinctive universe of Published By.
A nod to craftsmanship and continuous refinement, the collection is not only a visual spectacle but also lighter than ever before, thanks to the innovative design optimisation techniques employed by Published By. The collection serves as a canvas for the brand's studious dedication to research and development, pushing the boundaries of what is possible in the realm of fashion accessories.
Still, the brand isn't done yet. Always pushing the boundaries, Published By plans on expanding this product range across all products from accessories to ready-to-wear, and a footwear collaboration with Tokyo-based brand, Grounds. Published is poised to tread new ground, with future plans including the launch of their own footwear line. If this collection of covetable bags is anything to go by, we can't wait to see how Published By intersects fashion, technology, and creativity next.
