Prada Announce New Addition to the 24-Hour 'TimeCapsule'

A certain air of mystery surrounds Prada's Timecapsule that's been worked on for the past couple of months now, mainly because the capsule collection plays with the idea of time itself, an interesting take for 2021 when for many - at least in the UK - time has come to an oh-so-predictable standstill once again.

As previous buyers may know, every first Thursday of the month is a very important occasion for Prada fans and collectors everywhere. The date (7 January 2021, then 4 February 2021 and so on) serves as when the Italian brand will drop a limited edition piece of knitwear that belongs to the Timecapsule. So far, so good. Alas, for newcomers that aren't so familiar with the one-off pieces; there's a catch. You may think that because each month's drop is spaced out in between (30 odd days in fact) that the clothes will be available for that amount of time? Wrong. The idea that this drop is so exclusive and unique - particularly to staunch Prada fans - is because you have just 24 hours to grab a special piece from the Timecapsule collection from when it is released (15:00 CET) before it's gone forever.

This month's release on 7 January showcases a very cosy, kind of snazzy, slightly vintage-inspired silhouette-zip-up reminiscent of 70s patterns and styles. The front of the knit is emblazoned with a red, yellow and blue Jacquard pattern and - as always with this Timecapsule collection – is a unisex fit. With ribbed collar details, regular slanted shoulders, ribbed cuffs and hem, the unique one-off Prada piece is yours for £1,050.
