Per Götesson Is Slashing Everything With His Latest Capsule Collection
It’s easy to overlook small-scale independent brands when it comes to conversations around sustainability thanks to all the greenwashing around us, but its often their initiatives that make the most impact in encouraging others to adopt better practices for the environment. Thats certainly the case with Per Götteson whose upping the planet-positive ante with his latest capsule collection. Dubbed Slashes Everything, the London-based creative is slashing everything both literally and figuratively, as he challenges gender-norms and environmental practices. Handcrafted in Götteson’s London studio, the capsule continues his vision for a better future between fashion and the environment.
The limited collection highlights the brand's small-scale approach with the designer sourcing a selection of 19 vintage t-shirts from across London to be upcycled. Completely resewn in his London studio, the shirts feature Götteson’s signature cut-out details. Subverting traditional masculine traits with fragile, sensual lines, the shirts expose unexpected areas of the chest and torso. Reimagining masculinity, the delicate detailing is in stark contrast to the rock’n’roll graphics, and beer branding stamped on the sourced shirts.
With community at the core of his label, the collection celebrates the patchwork of London’s creative scene as seen by the collaborators he has enlisted for this project. The campaign stars musician Loshh along with Central Saint Martins menswear student Luca Reuben. Longtime collaborators of the brand Callum Baylis and Seif-Ali Umaar, styled and photographed the campaign respectively.
