Off-White and AC Milan Use Sport For Positive Goals
Since 2022, Off-White and football club AC Milan have partnered on initiatives that drive a decidedly positive outcome. Today in a limited-edition product release, both forces team up to promote the AC charity Fondazione Milan, whose work involves building homes for orphaned children in Nairobi, Kenya’s Alice Village. Proceeds from sales tie back into the larger Alice for Children mission, an 18-year-old nonprofit association dedicated to supporting at-risk children and women in Kenya. Fondazione Milan — in tandem with Off-White — operates with the conviction that sport can both transcend restrictions and help girls grow into change agents for an increasingly inclusive society.
The collaboration sees shirts in beige (or off-white) as the canvas to backdrop red letters emblazoned with ‘I SUPPORT SPORT FOR CHANGE’ slogans across chests. In fashion, Off-White finds ubiquity by prodding the timeless ‘chicken or the egg’ dilemma. Since 2013, collections often sit upon a backstory where the past informs the present. So, the Off-White USP routinely examines how propaganda refreshes itself inside the historic framework of well-known lore across creative disciplines.
Although Off-White may recall a Marcel Duchamp fashion-whirring-backwards-forwards-type of Futurism, the art house history of propaganda places itself at the core of this philanthropy mission with AC Milan the Fondazione. Well-known Off-White™ 'expressions’ like 'SCARF', 'T-SHIRT', or 'AIR MAX 97' take on a Barbara Krueger feeling of political immediacy for this project. That sense alone gives ‘I SUPPORT SPORT FOR CHANGE’ the conviction, equality and female-first importance this mission explores.
The new, limited-edition T-shirt debuted on 6 April on AC Milan players. The new, limited-edition AC Milan and OFF-WhiteTM T-shirt is available now.
