Filippo Grazioli Steps Down From Missoni

Hot off the heels of yesterday's Celine news, Missoni announces the departure of their creative director after two and half years.

In the latest industry shake-up, this morning Missoni announced that Filippo Grazioli would be away from his role as creative director. The designer held the position for two and a half years, creating only eight collections for the Italian Luxury brand. Following yesterday's news that Hedi Slimane has left his role as Celine's creative director, Missoni is the latest in a line-up of house's reshaping their brand direction.

Grazioli can be credited for bringing new vibrant life to the Maison, drawing from the classic energetic colours the brand is so well known for. For many, Missoni took a risk appointing the young designer, who was the first creative director hired outside the family to drive the Italian label's creative direction.

The position will be filled by Alberto Caliri, who has been with the company since 1998, working closely with the Missoni family, and even stepping in as creative director for a short stint in 2021. In a statement posted by Missoni, Grazioli stated ‘I am now ready to face new challenges and explore new frontiers’. The fashion industry has experienced many shakeups in the past week, we hope that Grazioli can move on to bigger, brighter things.
