Martine Rose’s Fashion Broadcast for SSENSE

It's hard to believe, but SSENSE, the Montreal-based global e-commerce and content platform, is celebrating its 20th anniversary. In honour of this milestone, SSENSE has launched a new program called SSENSE XX, which will feature 20 collaborative projects with various creative partners. Today, they unveil their project Our Chanel, a platform created by designer and brand Martine Rose and the London-based design studio, International Magic.

This project takes viewers back to a time when style influencers weren't chasing followers but were true visionaries expressing their identities. It was through bold statements that they united like-minded individuals around them, long before the era of internet followings. Our Chanel is also a return to the early days of SSENSE, a time when radios and TVs were more prevalent than streaming platforms, and fanzines and magazines were the primary sources of media.
Reminiscent of a five channel telly, Rose curated moments around Style, Music, Films, News, and Culture. This project invites viewers to explore the extended creative community, inspirations and world behind Martine Rose through moving image and sound.

Our Chanel features a recorded series of interviews with creatives who provide a broader context for the Martine Rose brand. You can already watch an interview with Jazzie B, the visionary force behind the legendary sound system Soul II Soul, who shares insights on music and culture. Additionally, you can listen to artist Jeremy Deller as he explains how the birth of Acid House is connected to the political landscape of the 1980s.
