Marni Gets a Carhartt WIP Makeover

Marni's artistic, colour-savvy world has merged with CARHARTT WIP, offering 'an original point of view on contemporary daywear' that will leave many well-dressed hipsters rejoicing in this one-off partnership. Bringing a new design identity to the playfulness notoriously associated with Marni, the collection includes a mixture of workwear-inspired silhouettes stamped with a colourful array of prints.

The collaboration remarks the brand's approach in fostering dialogues with other creative minds to translate 'shared ideals' into collections, inspiring creativity and imaginative thinking in all. As a result, new material combinations mix both Marni and Carhartt WIP signatures as utility wear is reinterpreted in generous volumes and lighthearted patterns. Jersey tops also take on the silhouette of basketball tank tops and feature a bold iteration of Carhartt WIP's 'C' Logo.

No design is left untouched in this collaboration, with even the minutest of details, such as the buttons recalling archive Carhartt designs as far back as 1889 making the inclusion. Signature Carhartt materials like corduroy and canvas also make an appearance, but not without Marni's colourful flair while pockets bear a co-branded motif in a true display of functional pragmatism and avant-garde dress codes coming together.

Shot by artist Lengua, seminal funk artist Bootsy Collins and his wife Patti front the campaign, accompanied by his grandson Vincent and musician Babyxsosa in their Cincinnati home styled by Haley Wollens.
