Marc Jacobs Reintroduces The Stam Bag With A Star-Studded Campaign
Do you remember where you were in 2005? Chances are you were daydreaming about owning Marc Jacobs' then latest it-accessory, the Stam Bag. First introduced at the designer’s A/W 05 runway show, the bag named after Canadian model Jessica Stam quickly became one of the most covetable designs of the year. The quilted leather design fitted with a distinct chunky metal chain flooded mood boards around the world after it was papped on the arms of Paris Hilton and Ashlee Simpson. Well, if you missed the bag’s original run (having been discontinued in 2013), you’re in luck because it’s the latest design getting the re-edition treatment.
First introduced last year, the (M)Archives collection is reintroducing some of the brand’s most iconic vintage handbags and accessories dating back to 1981. The Stam Bag is joining the ranks of the Classic Q and J Marc shoulder bag as one of the brand’s timeless styles. The made in Italy design will be offered in two sizes, the classic after the OG, and a smaller compact rendition.
To celebrate the relaunch of the iconic bag, Marc Jacobs has enlisted the help of some of the era’s biggest names (and fans of the OG Stam). The campaign features forever it-girls Paris Hilton, Selma Blair, Ashanti, Ashlee Simpson, and, of course, the muse herself Jessica Stam. Shot in LA by Harley Weir and styled by Alastair McKimm, the 60s Space-Age-inspired images put the Stam Bag centre stage proving once an it-bag, always an it-bag.
