We all know everyone has a right to shoes, but what about the right to explore how shoes are created? Manolo Blahnik has just unveiled a multisensory exhibition with xybrode in Mayfair to give customers an innovative look at the creative process behind their iconic designs. Dubbed ‘The Craft’, the immersive experience brings visitors on a virtual journey from the very first sketch to the finished product.
Visitors start their journey at Blahnik's iconic desk, where the initial idea of the shoes begins to take shape on paper before his legendary freehand sketches come to life. As if they were part of the design process themselves, guests will be presented with a plethora of materials at the cobbler's disposal from lush velvets to soft satins. Then, onto the factory floor where the designer’s visions come to life, and artisans can be seen on benches as they bring those sketches to life.
Born in 2021, the virtual fashion agency known for producing the NFT version of Harry Styles's iconic JW Anderson patchwork cardigan and a digitised version of Givenchy's already out-of-this-world TK-360 trainers is setting up a flagship location in London's Mayfair. Their partnership with Manolo Blahnik is just the first in xydrobe’s plans to expand the digital retail experience through immersive spectacles. Bringing previously unimaginable experiences to consumers through the latest AR technology, ‘The Craft’ promises to incite all the senses as visitors travel through time and space.
This exclusive experience is made possible by the new xydrobe Mayfair, set to open on the 21 October. You can register for priority booking here.
