How do you make a house a home? This is a question that no doubt peppers many a homeowner and renter's lips. However, the answer is easier than you may think, or at least it is if you have Versace on your side.
Debuting as part of Milan Design Week Salone del Mobile, Versace Home will open its doors to the brand's original Milan home and design Atelier: Palazzo Versace as part of the exhibition Versace Home: If These Walls Could Talk. The exhibition offers the public a full immersion into the Versace world like never before as symbols of the house are promised to litter many furniture pieces all over, including the Medusa, Barocco and Greca.
The exhibition is presented as an audio experience - thanks to Milan's independent radio station Radio Raheem - that will gradually unfold to the viewer as the make their way through various Versace-ified installations. Viewers will be given the opportunity to listen to voice snippets revealing the secrets of the Versace-owned Palazzo as if the very walls they're encased within were speaking directly to them. And considering the Versace family have called this location home for over 40 years... you can only imagine the stories swirling around the Palazzos walls. (Legend has it, this is where Fendi met with Versace to discuss the notorious Fendace show, as was the official 'Birth of the Supermodel' christened here thanks to the house's A/W 91 catwalk show, which took place in the Palazzo's courtyard'.
Whatever you think makes a house a home, fashion always knows best, and Versace is no exception to the rule. The exhibition Versace Home: If These Walls Could Talk is only open until 21 April, so if you happen to be in Milan for Salone del Mobile, make sure you don't miss it.
