Magliano and U-Power Are Redefining Workwear Shoes
With the weekend just around the corner, work is certainly the last thing on our minds. That is until Magliano dropped the campaign for their collaboration with workwear giant U-Power. Playfully riffing on construction sites, the sex-laced campaign shot by Buffalo Zine's editor-in-chief Adrian González-Cohen captures workers releasing the tension of a long workday between shifts. Along with a brand new shoe of course.
Italian designer Luca Magliano, who previously won the Karl Lagerfeld Special Jury Prize at this year's LVMH Prize, reimagines the classic U-Power Scandy model that's long been a staple for builders and factory workers. Infusing the durable design with bright lilac and green hues with contrast stiching adds a playful vibrancy to the style associated with long days on your feet.
Teaming up with one of Europe's largest suppliers of safety clothing, the collaboration shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone familiar with Magliano's work. As part of the designer's A/W 23 collection, the reimagining of the Scandy shoe is the cherry on top of the designer's longstanding homage to reworking workwear. An intrinsic part of workwear wardrobes around the world, these new shoes promise to inject excitement into your demanding weekdays and serve as a reminder to enjoy yourself throughout the day, even without a cigarette break.
