Virgil Abloh's nostalgic LV Trainer gets a makeover in the name of charity, with a $200 donation made to the Global Fund to fight AIDS for every pair sold.
In a continuation of Louis Vuitton's collaboration with (RED), the charitable organisation which aims to end AIDS, the pair have created a Louis Vuitton I (RED) Trainer. For every LV trainer sold, $200 will be donated to the Global Fund to fight AIDS in support of (RED).
(RED) is a charitable organisation founded by Bono and Bobby Shriver in 2006 to fight AIDS, which has generated more than $650 million for the Global Fund to fight AIDS and has impacted the lives of over 180 million people around the world.
The trainer model was first presented by menswear artistic director Virgil Abloh during his debut Louis Vuitton Spring/Summer 19 show. The LV low-top trainer borrows its lines from basketball shoes and features monogram flowers embedded across the sole, updated in a red and white colourway.
The Louis Vuitton I (RED) Trainer will be available in selected Louis Vuitton stores worldwide and online from Tuesday, 1st December on WORLD AIDS DAY.
