Louis Vuitton Escapes To Iceland With Viviane Sassen
In a timeless series of photographs lensed by Viviane Sassen, Louis Vuitton's latest campaign travels to Iceland. A series of breathtaking landscapes pays homage to the luxuries of travel and freedom, both fundamental to the French luxury house since its founding in 1894.
In a time when we're all yearning to be able to travel and escape reality, Louis Vuitton offers just that. Sassen's photographs document all sides of the Nordic island as a group of local school children jump on the southern black sand beaches, whilst others gaze over glacier lakes and pools in lava caves. Set against Iceland's cool skylines and charcoal mountains, we're invited to share in a childlike innocence which exists in the nature that surrounds us.
Following in the tradition of past campaigns, shot by the likes of Patrick Demarchelier and Craig McDean, iconic Louis Vuitton monogrammed trunks feature throughout, forming part of the landscape. Stacked to imitate the Eiffel Tower, re-fashioned as musical tambourines and unlocked by giant keys to form almost Surrealist images, fantasy and nature merge to form the ultimate escapist fashion imagery, fit for the current moment.
