Liam Hodges to Host Club Night at Mantra, Phonox
Menswear designer Liam Hodges is branching into nightlife, taking over the club night Mantra at Brixton club Phonox this Saturday 12 October. The night, co-presented by Highsnobiety, will see Hodges merge his streetwear credentials with global hip-hop culture. Given that Hodges has already demonstrated his selector credentials in creating a Fashion Mix for us at SHOWstudio, this guest residency seems like a natural fit in expanding and lifting up London’s diverse music scene using the framework of Liam Hodges the brand.
Hodges' foray into nightlife will see a night of live performances and DJs including resident DJ Tommy Gold joined by experimental Glaswegian rapper Chlobocop, Emerald, 111ustrious1 and the inclusion of a rumoured Skepta collaborator.
As part of the night Hodges is releasing a limited edition t-shirt (priced at £55) this Friday at 11am via liamhodges.co.uk printed with Mantra lettering and a graphic of Phantasio. The tee was inspired by magicians and performers of the 70s and plays on the club night’s namesake Mantra with “REPEAT AFTER ME” slogan.
Mantra is a new weekly club night at Brixton venue Phonox that features resident DJs on rotation including Skinny Macho, Bossy LDN, Tommy Gold and P-Rallel. Other fashion based collaborations the night will take part with include evenings curated by Footpatrol, Patta and Edjer.
Doors open at 9pm and tickets start from £5.00 on www.mantraldn.com and follow @mantra.sw9 for future events.
