Inspired by skate culture and Hugh Holland's 1970s depictions of California, Lanvin's Poetry in Motion is a love letter to skaters around the globe.

In a personal exploration of subculture, Lanvin's creative director Bruno Sialelli has released a skatewear-inspired capsule collection building on his continued promise to explore the notion of men's wardrobes, covering all bases from the runway to the street. Through Poetry in Motion, Sialelli highlights what he deems as 'the modern urban adventurers': aka skateboarders. As inspired by the pioneering 1970s Californian photographer Hugh Holland, French artist, photographer, and skateboarder Djiby Kebe captures free-wheeling dudes with their sun-scorched hair and shark's teeth around their necks hanging out on the world's most lustrous beaches.

However, a depiction of sorts may conjure up images of clothes that neglect the concept of tailoring altogether, think again as with this self-described 'luxury wardrobe', maximum attention is given to all fabric and materials used, which include a variety of silks, and wools, specifically merino and virgin wool. Jackets are also transformed in Poetry in Motion, which sees the new addition of zipped pockets and sleeveless styles, ready for any beach trip. House codes aligning with the MTV Hero character previously reimagined by Sialelli for the brand's A/W 20 Beach Birds collection also pops up in the capsule collection while sneakers become drawstrings on hoodies and details at the waistband of pants.

The limited-edition capsule collection will be available on Lanvin.com and at Lanvin boutiques worldwide as of 28 October.
